This paperback is a unique blend of simple jewelry designs, which you can create from the instructions included following each picture. Finding the materials in each picture may be a little tricky but the instructions help the new designer to experience a variety of techniques. I especially liked the copper working pages, and the Vibrant Reef necklace drops. I would probably change the gemstone beads but the beaded drops would give my own jewelry designs a new flare. Most of the designs I would not create but each jewelry designer has their own taste and style. The picture directions are quite clear and the accompanying text is very helpful. Although I liked the book, I do not think I would have added it to my collection had I seen the entire book in advance. (I bought it on line at Amazon Books). Even though this paperback book is a bit pricey, I still recommend it for the new jewelry designer. The varied necklace patterns and techniques may help them to establish their own personal direction through trial and error. Which is after all the best way to learn and establish your own distinctive style.
